What does a child learn in Year 6 maths?
Year 6 closes primary school: a child divides by two-digit numbers, uses the order of operations, simplifies, adds, multiplies and divides fractions, and moves freely between fractions, decimals and percentages. Ratio and proportion and simple algebra arrive. The child calculates the area of triangles and parallelograms and the volume of cuboids, finds missing angles, uses all four quadrants of the coordinate grid and calculates the mean.
